The Minister of Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lakkotrypis departs on Tuesday for Berlin, heading the Cyprus delegation that will participate in the International Travel Trade Show ITB 2017.
According to an official announcement, in the framework of the exhibition, Lakkotrypis will have on Wednesday and Thursday, a series of meetings with representatives of major airlines and travel agents, to discuss with them their planning for Cyprus.
In addition, on Thursday he will present the developments concerning Cyprus` tourist product to German journalists and professionals of the tourism industry at a reception organized by Cyprus Tourism Organization (CTO) on the occasion of the events for European Capital of Culture Pafos 2017.
Germany is an important market for tourism in Cyprus, having recorded 124,000 arrivals in 2016, an increase of 10.5% compared with 2015. CTO estimates that the arrivals from the country will further increase in 2017, based on scheduling and airline seats from the country.
