Reactions for Eurocypria

The content of the KPMG study on the future of the air carriers in Cyprus already aroused strong feelings. In its announcement, the Federation of Private Employees of Cyprus – OIYK SEK said that it will not accept the closing of Eurocypria, for which both the Finance Minister and the Executive Chairman have declared that it is viable, for the sake of other expediencies.

According to the Federation, the study must be discussed with the staff before any decision taking because otherwise serious problems will emerge and the labour peace will be at stake.

“We expect by the state to continue to support its stance when it was asking by the House of Representatives to back the Company financially few months ago. Any decision for the future of Eurocypria must be taken on the basis of its business needs and not on the basis of any pressures by third parties”, the announcement concluded.
