Demand for the domestic 6-year government bond recovered significantly compared to the previous month, data released today shows.
The tenth issue of 2015 public debt completed on September 18 attracted €28,4 mn in applications 90% of which came from foreign investors.
In the previous issue of one month ago, all of the applications of €30,1 mn were from domestic investors.
All of the applications were accepted.
The interest rate of the 2015 issue is 0,5% lower than the previous year.
Depending on the holding period, the 2015 issue offers an annual interest rate of 2,5% for holding the securities up to 24 months and gradually increases to 5,5% for a minimum of 60 months holding.
In May it was announced that interest rates will be reduced from the September issue.
The total value of applications of the first ten issues of 2015 amounted to €182,8 mn of which about 32% came from Cypriots and 68% from foreigners.
All of the applications were accepted and thus the target of €50 mn for the entire year has already been covered.
The issues will continue though, and applications for the next issue will be taken from October 2 to October 20, 2015.
