Trade deficit increases in first ten months of 2019

Cyprus` trade deficit recorded an increase on an annual basis during the first ten months of 2019, data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service show.

In particular, according to data included in the electronic publication “Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - October 2019 total imports in January - October 2019 amounted to €6,866.3 mn compared to €7,367.2 mn in January - October 2018.

Total exports, covering total exports to third countries and to EU member states in January - October 2019 were €2,642.6 mn compared to €3,933.0 mn in January - October 2018.

The trade deficit was €4,.223.7 mn in January - October 2019 compared to €3,434.2 mn in the corresponding month of 2018.

Total exports of domestically produced goods, excluding stores and provisions, in January - October 2019 were €1,108.3 mn compared to €1,389.2 mn in January - October 2018.

Total domestic exports of industrial products in January - October 2019 were €1,012.8 mn compared to €1,289.5 mn in January - October 2018.

Total domestic exports of agricultural products in January - October 2019 were €83.8 mn compared to €83.0 mn in January - October 2018.
