FinMin to investigate CAir

21/04/2003 14:30
Finance Minister, Marcos Kyprianou, said that the Ministry will proceed to an investigation with regard to the correctness of the decisions taken by the outgoing Board of Directors of Cyprus Airways, clarifying this will be a technocratic investigation as there are no suspicions regarding 'under the table' dealings.

Mr. Kyprianou said that the Ministry will not only examine the correctness of the decisions, but also the means of their implementation by the CAIR Board. It is worth mentioning that Cyprus Airways still encounters problems with the purchase of three Airbus 310 and with the hiring of a fourth Airbus by the same US company.

The Minister will proceed to the investigation following the decision of the House Audit Committee
