Representative from five telecommunication organizations (Cosmote, Vodafone, Spiderphone, Monacotelecom and CYTA), have expressed their interest on Friday to establish a second mobile telecommunication service in Cyprus end of 2003.

The first public hearing was held today, while the license is expected to be granted in June.

As the CNA reports, The Commission of Telecommunications, the Postal Regulation and the Directory of Telecommunications of the Communication Ministry will examine the applications and will finalise its decision with regard to the said issue.

It is noted that the companies will have 52 days to submit their offer and the pre-selection procedure will take place a month before the submission.
