Online webcast by PwC on the transformation of the economy

  • Distinguished speakers discuss and analyse the challenges and opportunities for a greener, digital and resilient Cyprus

The unprecedented conditions we are experiencing as a result of the pandemic, have created multiple challenges for businesses, the economy and society in general. With the aim of supporting local businesses and society, PwC Cyprus is organising an online webcast on Thursday, 4 March, at 16:00, on the transformation of the economy, based on the priorities that have been set by the European Union under the Next Generation EU framework for a greener, digital and resilient economy. The webcast is open to the public and will be held in Greek.

The main focus of the event will be on how to achieve the goal of economic recovery and transformation, in an effort to respond to the pandemic and effectively mitigate its impact.

The event will be addressed by PwC Cyprus CEO Mr Evgenios Evgeniou, while the Head of the European Commission Representation in Cyprus, Mr Ierotheos Papadopoulos, will analyse the Recovery and Resilience Facility; a tool by the EU to emerge stronger from the current crisis.

A panel discussion will follow, focusing on the EU’s initiatives under Next Generation EU, with special emphasis on how to support and strengthen businesses but also the economy. The panel will be joined by the Permanent Secretary of the Directorate General of European Programmes, Coordination and Development, Mr Theodosis A. Tsiolas, the Member of the Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council and the Chief Economist of Hellenic Bank, Dr Andreas Assiotis as well as the Advisory Services Partner at PwC Cyprus, Mr Vassilios Vrachimis. The discussion will be coordinated by journalist, Mr Yiannis Seitanides.
