Police issue 127 fines over Covid-19 protective measures violation

Cyprus Police reported 124 individuals, a number significantly increased compared to yesterdays’ reports, and 3 shop owners for violating the protective measures against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Limassol has the higher number of fines issued during the last 24 hours.

A police spokesperson told CNA the force carried out 8,186 checks throughout the island in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time, today.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 1,377 controls reporting 15 individuals, in Limassol 1,506 checks reporting 47 individuals, in Larnaca 1,365 checks with 23 individuals, in Pafos 21 individuals and 3 shop owners were reported following 1,242 checks.

The Police also carried out 1,470 checks in Famagusta reporting 18 individuals and in Morphou no reports were made after 712 checks.

Furthermore, the Traffic Department carried out 457 checks, the Rapid Response Unit conducted 5 checks and the Marine and Port Police carried out 52 checks with no reports issued.
