Police issues just 4 fines for covid protective measures violations

Police reports over measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in Cyprus declined to just 4 in the last 24hours, as the government is gradually relaxing restrictions following the decline in covid infections.

A police spokesperson told CNA the force carried out 3,498 checks throughout the island, reporting two citizens and one shop owner in Pafos and one individual in Famagusta.

In the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 Friday, the Police carried out 404 checks in Nicosia, 505 in Limassol, 706 in Larnaca, 500 in Pafos, 679 in Famagusta, 294 in Morphou, while the Traffic Department and the Marine and Port Police carried out 297 and 113 checks respectively.
