Industrial output prices up 19.5% in April

The Index of Industrial Output Prices for April 2022 reached 123.8 units (base 2015=100), recording an increase of 19.5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data published by the Statistical Service on Monday.

Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, an increase was recorded in all sectors. Electricity supply rose by 43.6%, water supply and materials recovery by 27.2%, manufacturing by 13% and mining and quarrying by 4.4%.

By division of economic activity in manufacturing, in April 2022 compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases were recorded in all economic activities. The most significant were observed in the manufacture of wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture by 37.2%, the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products by 33.4%, the manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 18.8%, the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products 12.2% and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment by 12.2% as well.

In April 2022 compared to March 2022, the index recorded an increase of 2.1%. During this period, it remained stable in the sector of electricity supply, while it showed a rise in the sectors of manufacturing by 2.8%, water supply and materials recovery by 0.7% and mining and quarrying by 0.5%.

For the period January-April 2022, the index showed an increase of 17,3% compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
