Further, as at the same dates applications can be made for a trading account, enabling investors, if they wish, to carry out transactions for the above titles from the 17 December 2001 when recommencement of trading of the above companies begins.

For the trading account, an investor can appoint a CSE member (brokerage office) which will be authorised to carry out brokerage transactions, as well as the particular titles and their maximum number which the member appointed will have the authority to carry out transactions for.

In the event where a shareholder already has a trading account on the Central Register, he will be able to give access to the CSE member if he wishes, for shares which concern the above titles, through the relevant form.

Concerning investment plans which are registered in the name of the owner of the titles and are financed by a Trustee, Regulation 11 of CSE Regulations of 2001, it is noted that Members acting as Trustees or have authority from a Trustee must, by the latest Tuesday 4 December 2001, to ensure that the completed appointment of trustee form and application for the opening of a trading account for each of the said companies, is forwarded.

It is also noted that titles which as at today, in the form of the aforementioned investment plans, are pledged, by their incorporation on the Central Register their pledging will not necessary, it must however must be clarified to the companies if the titles will have to be pledged or unencumbered for transfer.

The CSE has issued a special publication entitled “Central Register – Investors Manual” which details the operation of the Central Register, the types of trading accounts and relevant procedures. Investors can obtain the publication from CSE Members (brokerage offices) or from the CSE.

Titles and binding confirmations of the above titles issued up to today will be cancelled when their registers are taken up by the Central Register.

To shareholders of the aforementioned titles registered as at the time when the CSE Central Register takes up their registers, a confirmation will be forwarded of titles and their specific number which each registered shareholder holds as at that date. This confirmation – depository account statement, will constitute the only proof of ownership of shares by an investor.
