Car importers’ trust index

StockWatch released today a new survey of consumer trust to major car importers, using a sample of 500 households.

The new reliability index of StockWatch records small differences in the assessment of consumers in relation to May 2014.

The index is based on two questions, one on consumer trust in 12 major companies in the sector and one on whether consumers intend to recommend them to others.

For each one of the companies their names and brands were mentioned and consumers were requested to answer how reliable they are and whether they would be recommended on a scale of 0 to 10.



The most reliable importer was Dickran Ouzounian & Co, distributor of Toyota and Lexus, with 7.50 out of 10 compared to 7.20 recorded in the previous StockWatch survey. The company received 7.6 to the question on their reliability and 7.4 whether it would be recommended.

The second most reliable company is CiC Auto Masters LTD (Mercedes, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia, Jeep, Smart) rated with 7.20 from 7.15 in the previous survey.

Charalambos Pilakoutas (BMW, Mini, Nissan, Jaguar, Land Rover and Rolls Royce) ranked third with 7.10 from 7.20 in May.

The reliability scale is followed by Unicars representing Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seats coring 6.85 from 7.10 in the previous survey, while the lowest scores were registered in Motokinisi Limited (Porche, Bentley), CTC Automotive (Hyundai, Volvo, Iveco), Geo. Pavlides & Araouzos Ltd (Opel, Chevrolet, Citroen, Mazda, Subaru, Saab) and Demstar Automotive Ltd (Honda, Peugeot).

A. Loutsios & Sons Ltd (KIA, Isuzu, Hammer) scored 5.75 from 5.25 in May.

A. Trikomitis Motors Ltd, importer of Suzuki, took 5.85 from 5.90 in May.

The survey data is collected by RAI on behalf of StockWatch. The sample size for households was 500 people. The coverage was nationwide, urban and rural areas, men and women 18 years and older.

The methodology was a multistage stratified random sampling.

The method of data collection was with telephone interview from RAI’s call center.

The survey was conducted between 13-17 October 2014.

The statistical error of the survey is +/-4%.
