The total registrations of motor vehicles during the first six months of 2014 increased by 20,9% to 11.190 in January – June 2014, from 9.258 vehicles in the same period of 2013, according to the report entitled "Registration of Motor Vehicles" for the period January-June 2014 published today by the Statistical Service.
Private saloon cars increased to 8.414, from 6.627 in January–June 2013, i.e. there was an increase of 27,0%. Of the total private saloon cars, 4.019 vehicles or 47,8% were new and 4.395 vehicles or 52,2% were used cars.
Goods conveyance vehicles increased by 12,1% to 936 in 2014, compared to 835 in 2013.
Light goods vehicles increased by 16,5% to 789, from 677 in 2013.
Heavy goods vehicles decreased by 22,9% to 91 in January-June 2014, from 118 in 2013.
Road tractors (units of trailers) increased by 40,0% to 56 in January-June 2014, from 40 in January-June 2013.
Mopeds<50(cc) increased by 2,6% to 120 in January-June 2014, compared to 117 in January-June 2013.
Mechanised cycles>50(cc) increased by 27,5% to 1.072 in January-June 2014, compared to 841 in January-June 2013.
