Car registrations increase by 31%

Registration of passenger saloon cars increased to 13.646, from 10.432 in January-June 2015, recording an increase of 30.8%, according to data released Thurdsay by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

Drom total passenger saloon cars, 6.678 or 48,9% were new and 6.968 or 51,1% were used cars.

The total registrations of motor vehicles increased by 32,4% to 16.506 in January-June 2016, from 12.470 vehicles in the same period of 2015.

Goods conveyance vehicles increased by 46,1% to 1.389 in January-June 2016, compared to 951 in January-June 2015.

Light goods vehicles increased by 47,0% to 1.204, from 819 in January-June 2015.

Heavy goods vehicles increased by 68,7% to 140 in January-June 2016, from 83 in January-June 2015.

Road tractors (units of trailers) decreased by 8,2% to 45 in January-June 2016, from 49 in January-June 2015.

Mopeds < 50cc increased by 27,3% to 126 in January-June 2016, compared to 99 in January-June 2015.

Mechanised cycles > 50cc increased by 38,2% to 1.200 in the first six months of 2016, compared to 868 in the corresponding period of 2015.
