Saloon registrations increase

The total registrations of motor vehicles increased by 38,2% to 10.334 in January-March 2017, from 7.475 vehicles in the same period of 2016, according to figures announced today by the Statistical Service.

Passenger saloon cars increased to 8.666, from 6.394 in January-March 2016, i.e. there was an increase of 35,5%. Of the total passenger saloon cars, 3.649 or 42,1% were new and 5.017 or 57,9% were used cars.

Goods conveyance vehicles increased by 76,4% to 1.039 in January-March 2017, compared to 589 in January-March 2016.

Light goods vehicles increased by 66,3% to 858, from 516 in January-March 2016.

Heavy goods vehicles increased by 83,6% to 101 in January-March 2017, from 55 in January-March 2016.

Road tractors (units of trailers) increased to 80 in January-March 2017, from 18 in January-March 2016.

Mopeds < 50cc decreased to 24 in January-March 2017, compared to 26 in January-March 2016.

Mechanised cycles > 50cc increased by 13,5% to 471 in 2017, compared to 415 in January-March 2016.
