Anastasiades to visit Russia

The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades will pay an official visit to the Russian Federation between 24 and 27 February, during which he will hold a series of meetings in Moscow and St Petersburg.

During his stay in Moscow the President will have official meetings with the President of the Russian Federation Mr Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Government Mr Dmitry Medvedev and the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Mr Sergey Naryshkin.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Energy, and the Government Spokesman.

Issues to be discussed at the meetings will include the Cyprus problem, the relations between Cyprus and the Russian Federation and ways to deepen them further, the EU-Russian relations, the situation in Ukraine, as well as regional developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Furthermore, it is expected that a series of bilateral agreements in various fields of bilateral cooperation will be signed.

In addition, the President of the Republic will speak at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations on the Cyprus problem and the latest developments, and will meet with the editors in chief of the main Media of the Russian Federation.

On 26 February, the President will depart for St Petersburg where he will have a meeting with the Governor of the city.
