Cyprus and Israel Finance Ministers discuss prospects of further economic cooperation

The prospect of further cooperation between Cyprus and Israel on energy, trade, cybersecurity and the financial sector was the focus of a meeting between Cypriot Finance Minister Constantinos Petrides and his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman, who pays an official visit to Cyprus.

The two Ministers met on Thursday at the Ministry of Finance in Nicosia, in the presence of their delegations, a Finance Ministry press release says.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral issues and discussed the prospects for further strengthening of economic and trade ties between the two countries, in addition to the already great progress that was achieved so far, it adds.

Among other things, they discussed the need to strengthen bilateral relations between Cyprus and Israel and the prospect of further cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, trade, cybersecurity and the financial sector, especially in the field of financial technology (Fintech).
