Christodoulides to hold meetings with US officials

Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides will hold meetings with US Administration officials.

According to a PIO press release, Christodoulides, who is accompanying the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades in New York, will go to Washington on 23 March for contacts with officials of the American government.

More specifically, the Government Spokesman will meet on 23 with the Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council Damon Wilson and with David Koranyi, Director, Energy Diplomacy Initiative, at the Council. In the evening he will attend a dinner hosted by the White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus on the occasion of the 25 March anniversary marking Greek Independence Day.

On 24 March, the Government Spokesman will meet with officials of the United States Department of State, including the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs John Heffern and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Southeastern Europe Jonathan Cohen.

He will also meet with the Advisor of the Vice President of the United States for foreign policy issues Molly Montgomery, as well as with the Director for Cyprus, Greece and Turkey of the National Security Council at the White House Shannon Culbertson.

In the afternoon of the same day he will attend the traditional reception on the occasion of the 25 March anniversary at the White House in the presence of the President of the United States of America.

On 25 March Christodoulides will go to New York where he will attend and address, on behalf of the Cyprus Government, the annual Conference of the Cyprus Federation of America.

On 26 March the Government Spokesman will go again to Washington at the invitation of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in order to attend the AIPAC Policy Conference 2017 and participate with Ministers of EU member states in a roundtable discussion, in the context of the Conference on 27 March, on issues that concern the current challenges for Europe, Israel and the Eastern Mediterranean.

On 28 March the Government Spokesman will attend a working breakfast with journalists and officials of American think tanks during which he will brief them on the current situation pertaining to the Cyprus problem.

On the same day he will also meet with officials of the ExxonMobil Company.

Christodoulides will depart for Cyprus on 28 March.
