Greek Prime Minister, Costas Simitis, said that state mechanism is ready to encounter all possibilities since a war in Iraq is almost inevitable, stressing that the imminent military action will lead to an international crisis and that Greece will support the UN as a guarantor of international legality.
The Prime Minister clarified that Greece will not participate in the attack and called all European countries to adopt a common line in defense and foreign policy.
As far as the EU Summit on Thursday is concerned, Mr. Simitis said that the agenda will also contain issues such as economic development, social cohesion and employment.
