President met governor of Maharashtra

Prospects to further enhance cooperation between Cyprus and India in the fields of commerce and finance were examined during a meeting President Nicos Anastasiades held in Mumbai with the Governor of Maharashtra.

A statement by the Presidency said that Nicos Anastasiades, who is paying a state visit to India, met on Tuesday afternoon with Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, the Governor of the state of Maharashtra, the capital of which is Mumbai.

“During the meeting there was an exchange of views on the prospects that exist for further cooperation between Cyprus and India in the fields of finance and commerce”, it added.

The President of the Republic referred to the prospects of the Cypriot economy and the comparative advantages it has. They also discussed issues relating to the need for cooperation in the war against terrorism, the statement concluded.
