President to raise Turkey's illegal actions in EEZ, at Informal European Council in Romania

President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades arrived today in Sibiu, Romania, where he will participate in the deliberations of the Informal European Council which will take place tomorrow.

According to a press release issued by the Presidency, at the Council, the President will raise the issue of the recent illegal actions by Turkey in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus following the strong protests that have been made to the direction of the institutions and the member states of the European Union.

In addition, on the sidelines of the Informal European Council, the President will hold bilateral meetings with heads of state and government of EU member states.

Earlier, tomorrow, President Anastasiades will participate in the proceedings of the European People`s Party (EPP) in Sibiu, where he will make an Intervention during which he will brief the heads of state and governments who participate in the EPP, on the provocations by Turkey in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic of Cyprus.

The Council will discuss the Future of Europe and the Strategic Agenda of the European Union for the period 2019-2024.

The President of the Republic is accompanied in Sibiu by Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou.
