President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades departs Monday evening for India, where he will pay a four-day state visit, heading a government delegation, which will be accompanied by a numerous delegation of Cypriot entrepreneurs.

President Anastasiades, who will be accompanied by the Ministers of Finance, Energy, Transports, Agriculture and the Government Spokesman, will arrive in Mumbai, India, in the morning of 25 April.

According to a Presidency announcement, during his stay in Mumbai, the President of the Republic will meet with the Governor of Maharashtra state, capital of which is Mumbai, and he will also visit the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

It is expected that President will also go on a guided tour of studios of the film industry of Mumbai and of the historic centre of the city.

On the next day, the President of the Republic will pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack of November 2008 in Mumbai.

Later on he will attend the business forum organised by the business associations of Cyprus and Mumbai at which he will be the keynote speaker.

In the evening President Anastasiades will depart for New Delhi where on 27 April he will visit the site of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination (Gandhi Smriti) and pay tribute to the great leader of India.

He will then attend the business forum organized by the business associations of Cyprus and New Delhi.

In the afternoon of 27 April, President Anastasiades will be the keynote speaker at an event organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) think tank on “The EU-India Strategic Partnership in the 21st Century; A Cyprus Perspective.”

On 28 April, the President of the Republic will visit the Presidential Palace where he will be officially welcomed by the President of India, and later on he will visit the Gandhi Mausoleum.

Later on at the same day, the President of the Republic will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj.

Afterward he will hold a meeting with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The President and the Cypriot delegation will later attend a working lunch hosted by the Prime Minister. After the lunch, bilateral agreements between the two countries will be signed.

In the evening, the President of the Republic will attend an official dinner hosted in his honor by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

The President of the Republic will leave New Delhi for Brussels early in the morning of 29 April, while the members of the Cypriot delegation will depart also early in the morning for Cyprus.
