Fiscal debt at 97.5% of GDP in 2017

Cyprus’ fiscal debt in 2017 was €19.213,8 mn, which corresponds to 97.5% of GDP, according to preliminary fiscal results for 2017, which have been audited and verified within the Excessive Deficit Procedure framework of the European Commission.

According to a Statistical Services’ press release the results for 2017 indicate a fiscal surplus of €343.5 mn, which corresponds to 1,8% of GDP.

Cyprus Ministry of Finance has envisaged a reduction of the public debt to 98.4% of GDP at the end of 2017.
