Trade deficit at €1.9 bn

Trade deficit in Cyprus fell to €1.9 bn in the first seven months of 2015 against €2 bn last year, according to Eurostat data released today.

Cyprus exports increased by 24% at €1.1 bn while imports rose by 3% reaching €2.9 bn.

Trade deficit in Greece fell to €10 bn from €12.4 bn in the period of January – July 2014.

The eurozone recorded a surplus of €146.5 bn in the seven months of 2015 against a surplus of €97.1 bn last year.

In the EU, trade surplus reached €36 bn in the period of January – July 2015 against a deficit of €2.8 bn in the corresponding period last year.
