CY President expresses hope that international law will prevail

“I hope that the international law will prevail with regard to the Turkish efforts to pressure the European Union on the latter’s promises given to the Turkish side”, Cyprus President, Tassos Papadopoulos said on Friday.

As the CNA reports, Mr. Papadopoulos said that the government had already a number of meetings in view of the COREPER meeting, which will review the EU regulations on the T/C assistance.

“During my stay in Athens I met the Greek President, Costis Stephanopoulos, the Greek Prime Minister, Costas Karamanlis and the Foreign Minister, Petros Molyviatis. I had also a meeting with the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair”, Mr. Papadopoulos noted.
