Greece in $1.4bn defence buy

The Greek government yesterday ordered a batch of helicopters from Boeing and a consortium led by Eurocopter in one of this year's largest military aircraft deals, valued at $1.4bn ( £890m). The defence ministry will buy 20 NH90 helicopters with options on 14 more from NH Industries, the consortium led by Eads unit Eurocopter. It also ordered 12 Apache AH-64D Longbow attack helicopters from Boeing, with an option for four more.
