1st Cyprus-China Business Cooperation Forum

The 1st Cyprus-China Business Cooperation Forum, which was organized by the China International Investors Association and the Limassol Municipality and co-organized by the CIECC Overseas Consulting Cooperation and the Zhongshi Asia-Pacific International Culture Media Co Ltd, was concluded with great success offering immense networking opportunities for all attendees. The Forum took place on October 17th, 2019 and was hosted at the St Raphael Resort & Marina Hotel.

The aim of the Forum was to set the foundations of a business exchange platform to strengthen the collaboration between China and Cyprus. The Forum’s frame work touched various issues that affect the entrepreneurial collaboration of the two countries such as the advantages of the Cyprus tourism, energy reserves, financial services, education and many others, in which Cyprus has been achieving great growth, with which naming the island as a top development and investment destination. Simultaneously, successful case studies involving Chinese investments and collaboration between Cyprus and China were emphasized. Additionally, during the Forum various collaboration possibilities between China and Cyprus have been explored as means of expanding China’s investments in Europe and surrounding regions. The Forum was addressed by the Commercial Attaché Mr. Li Yaohui of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Nikos Nikolaides

It is worth noting that the Forum was attended by Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, various ministries of the Republic of Cyprus as well as prominent members of the local entrepreneurial scene, who had the opportunity to present their operations on the island and provide useful information about the prospects and benefits of the collaboration between Cyprus and China.

As announced, after the conclusion of the Forum, a charity gala dinner was hosted at the Presidential Palace, under the auspices of the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Ms Andri Anastasiades and under the great support of the companies DMG Real Estate Development Ltd. (main sponsor), OUSAI Properties, Aristo Developers, Mediterranean City of Dreams Group and Kelaide Properties Group. All the gala dinner proceeds were offered to the ‘’Panos Evripides Foundation’’ which provides support to premature children.

The activities surrounding the Cyprus-China Business Cooperation Forum were completed with the 3rdDMG China Festival Cyprus, which took place on October 19th and 20th, 2019, at Enarios Parking Area in Limassol. The Festival was open to the public and included an impressive array of cultural and artistic activities, addressed to all ages.
