Logicom Solutions presents the 9th Banking Forum & FinTech Expo organized by IMH on Wednesday 8^th of December at Hilton Nicosia. It is the premier peer-to-peer event that brings together all banking professionals. The Forum will discuss the new banking business models resulting from the rapid technological changes and innovations, the major challenges the banking sector is facing, the fluctuations in consumer behavior, as well as what the banks of the future will look like.

The discussion with the Vice-President of the European Central Bank, Luis de Guindos and the Governor of the Central Bank, Konstantinos Herodotou on the European banking system, will surely raise huge interest since this is the first time a high-ranking ECB official participates in a Banking Forum in Cyprus. De Guindos and Herodotou will discuss the measures taken both at the European and national level from the banking sector in order to cope with the effects of the pandemic. Their discussion will also address the challenges the European banking system is facing; the ever-increasing digitalization of banks, the rise of digital currencies, monetary policy, and inflation amongst others. Moderator of the discussion will be Michalis Stephanou, Partner, Advisory, In charge of Banking at PwC Cyprus.

Moreover, CEOs from four Cypriot banks, Panicos Nicolaou (Bank of Cyprus), Oliver Gatzke (Hellenic Bank), Dr. Kirill Zimarin (RCB Bank) and Konstantinos Koutentakis (Alpha Bank Cyprus), will talk about what banks of the future will look like, the changes that are introduced to the banking sector, as well as how consumers’ behaviour is changing.

With the new norm being digital transactions, the operating model of commercial banks is being transformed. In a round table discussion coordinated by Chrysostomos Kridiotis, Managing Director of Logicom Solutions, Christos Eotzourian (Hellenic Bank), Spyros Loizou (Eurobank Cyprus) and George Tziortzis (Bank of Cyprus) will converse on the digital transformation in the financial services and the new banking model formed with the use of digital technology.

Among other topics, the banking forum will analyze the sudden upsurge in Fintech which changed the way traditional banks function, and the innovative solutions that banking organizations need to adopt in order to compete with emerging businesses.
