As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and the sensitivity the Group always displays on matters of History, Science and Culture in general, Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd has decided to support the University of Cyprus with monetary awards in support and reward of its students of distinction.
The University of Cyprus comprises the top tier of Cypriot education and has distinguished itself both nationally and internationally with its level of teaching and its rich body of research.
Of the total nine awards granted, of the highest significance were those for “Greek Culture” and “Remembering Occupied Cyprus” which deal with knowledge on matters of history, archaeology and geography of the regions of the Greek civilization and occupied Cyprus. Also of great importance, is the award to students with special needs and special skills, due to the fact that these students face greater challenges than most in the acquisition of their degree.
The awarding took place between the 26th and 29th of June during the graduation ceremonies of the University’s several schools which the Managing Director of Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd Mr. George Georgiou and Mrs. Irene Charitou Marketing Manager attended.
