Hai continues; “This partnership fills an important gap that exists today between the supply of and demand for academic knowledge in the areas of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology.  More specifically, while the interest in blockchain has skyrocketed in the past few years, other  academic institutions have been slow to run academic programmes that cover the need for educating specialists in the area.”

Commenting on the new partnership, IFF Executive Director, Professor George Giaglis, noted: “We are extremely happy to welcome Binance to the family of our students' sponsors and supporters. This partnership will help cement UNIC's reputation as a leading provider of academic education and world-class research in digital assets and blockchain. We are looking forward to working with Binance to welcome more Cypriot, Greek, and international students to our programmes and educate the crypto leaders of tomorrow.”

The MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency is the world’s first and the leading master’s degree in the field, with more than 1,350 students enrolled since 2014. In line with UNIC’s declared objective in expanding accessibility to and affordability of higher education, the programme is made available to students worldwide through both an online and on-campus formats.

Moreover, graduates are vigorously recruited into a range of interdisciplinary positions at the intersection between management, computer science, and finance, by top employers in the US, the UK, and Western Europe.

As a result of this partnership, UNIC will join a global network of like minded academic institutions involved in Web3 and Blockchain that Binance Charity is establishing, including UC Berkeley, Frankfurt School Blockchain Centre and University of Western Australia.
