Chevron Pledges $10,000 to Cyprus Forest Fire Relief Fund

Chevron Corporation ((NYSE: CVX) today announced a contribution of $10,000 to the Cyprus Forest Fire Relief Fund, which will help support humanitarian aid and relief efforts being provided to communities and individuals affected by fires which impacted the country in early July 2021.

“The fires in the Cypriot mountains of Larnaca and Limassol were the most destructive blazes in the 61-year history of the Republic of Cyprus, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the people of Cyprus,” said Kristian Svendsen, Chevron’s Regional Manager. "This donation is intended to support the work of the Cyprus Forest Fire Relief Fund, in providing much-needed assistance to those affected by this terrible event.”

The Cyprus Forest Fire Relief Fund was established in July 2021, to support those impacted by the Cypriot fires.

In October 2020, Chevron established its presence in Cyprus following the acquisition of Noble Energy and acquired the right to offshore exploration at the Aphrodite gas field off the southern coast of Cyprus. The Aphrodite field is located in Cyprus’ Offshore Exploration Block 12.
