COOPower Final Event: an online discussion about the state of social economy in Europe

British Council announces the final event of its COOPower project, hosted online, on 24 November, at 17:00 CET, 18:00 EET
COOPower aims to raise awareness about co-operative and social economy enterprises

British Council announces the “COOPower Final Event”, an online discussion with free entry about the state of social economy in Europe. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 24th, at 17:00 CET, and will be livestreamed through British Council Greece’s Facebook page.

The event will host two panels, featuring qualified speakers, and focusing on the below topics:

Young People and Social Economy – Working in Times of Challenge

Young social entrepreneurs from the UK, Greece, and Croatia, will talk about what it means to have a business with a social impact, share best practices and the challenges Covid-19 brought.

Policy making for Social Economy – The Situation in the EU, Greece, Croatia and Cyprus

Policy makers from the EU, Greece, Croatia and Cyprus discuss the current and future prospects of social economy in the region.

The discussion will be facilitated by Maria Nomikou, Sector Lead Youth, Skills and Inclusive Communities, Europe at British Council.

COOPower is an EU funded project that aims to raise awareness about co-operative and social economy enterprises as alternative, inclusive, and innovative approaches to tackling youth unemployment, providing practical support to young people in Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, and Croatia. It is implemented by British Council in partnership with the General Secretariat for Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning and Youth of the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and Step Ri, the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka in Croatia.
