15/10/2021 11:12

The Cyprus University of Technology and the EIT Climate-KIC Hub in Cyprus organize an event on urban sustainability and circularity entitled “Cyprus talks green: The rise of the new urbanism”. The event will take place on Monday, November 8th, 2021 between 09:30 and 13:00 at Royal Hall Nicosia.

New urbanism refers to the designing of modern cities and neighborhoods that promote environmentally friendly habits, with a focus on innovative solutions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

This event is the third one of a series of events, jointly organised by organisations across Cyprus, which promote sustainable practices and will happen on #WordUrbanismDay, thus all presentations will be around urban sustainability and circularity.

The aim of the “Cyprus talks green” series of events is to amplify the impact of our common actions and identify areas of possible coalitions.

The event is organized by the Cyprus University of Technology, the EIT Climate-KIC Cyprus Hub, with the support of the Center of Social Innovation, Chrysalis LEAP, Cyprus Energy Agency, Friends of the Earth Cyprus, Sustainable Energy Laboratory, Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), Electra Energy (Greece) and MCAST (Malta).

Special thanks to the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Cyprus, Mr Vladimír Něme and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Cyprus Ms Elke Merks-Schaapveld for the honour to present the opening speeches during this event.
