DHL Express Cyprus, the global leader in the logistics industry, received from CIC Ltd its first 11 electric vans to gradually replace the existing ones, adding its contribution for a more sustainable future. The delivery of the 11 Mercedes eVito took place on July 7th at the CIC Ltd headquarters in Kaimakli, by the company's Managing Director, Mr. Alexis Anninos, and the sales manager, Mr. Michalis Papalambrianou. On behalf of DHL, the vans were received by the General Manager, Mr. Valentinos Piripitsis, the Operations Manager, Mr. Lambros Papadopoulos, and the Security and Health & Safety Manager, Mr. Thanasis Argyrou. It is worth noting that an additional 17 Mercedes eSprinter will be delivered to DHL by mid-August.

These 28 electric vans are part of DHL's broader plan for environmental sustainability, with a total investment amount to 1.6 million, including the infrastructure installed at all DHL stations. The majority of the vans will be located in the Limassol facility, where solar panels have already been installed to generate energy to charge the vans. The company's goal is to cover 85% of its fleet with electric vans by 2025.

Mr. Valentinos Piripitsis stated: “As the global leader in logistics, we have a responsibility to set an example in the industry for sustainability by reducing our company's carbon footprint. The purchase of the electric vans, as well as the infrastructure we have installed, is a very important step towards this direction since the decisions we make today will have a significant impact in the future. Our goal is to constantly upgrade our services and offer the best to our customers and employees, and most importantly, without harming the environment".

DHL Express Cyprus follows the global GO GREEN initiative, which aims to eliminate the company's carbon dioxide footprint by 2050.
