The Board of Directors is the Foundation’s highest governing body and is responsible for providing guidance and strategic planning, while the Chief Scientist is appointed as the Board’s ex officio Chairman.

In his statements, Dr Mastroyiannopoulos said he was taking on the dual role of Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation of the Republic of Cyprus as well as Chairman of RIF’s Board of Directors, at a time when research and innovation could and should reinforce the Cyprus economy but also society in general. “During this admittedly difficult period, we have a duty to push forward, with the aim of inspiring but also actively supporting young scientists and young entrepreneurs.” He also added that “the laid foundations are solid and based on the priorities that have been set, we will move with even greater determination and will towards implementing our strategic goals.
