Eco-Schools Programme Award Ceremony 2022

• Hellenic Bank supporting Eco - Schools for 24 years

The Green Flag Award Ceremony of the “Eco-Schools” Programme was held on the 21st June 2022, at the Hellenic Bank Head Office in Nicosia. The Green Flag was awarded to Schools that successfully completed three years in the Programme.

The Programme is carried out in conjuction with CYMEPA and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports (MOEC) and the active support of Hellenic Bank. The Ceremony was placed under the auspices of the Commissioner for the Environment, Ms Klelia Vasiliou.

Participants included symbolically the children of one Kindergarten, while Teachers from Primary, Secondary, Special and Private Schools represented the 69 Schools awarded.

Maria Pilidou welcomed the participants on behalf of Hellenic Bank and CYMEPA and School Inspectors Yiota Mylona and Antri Kontou delivered the message of the Ministry (MOEC). Finally, Kyriakos Shiakallis greeted the Ceremony on behalf of the Commissioner for the Environment. All speakers expressed their warm support to the Programme and congratulated all stakeholders.

Eco-Schools is the largest global sustainable schools programme which starts in the classroom and expands to the community by engaging the next generation in action-based learning.
