Grant Thornton Cyprus launches sustainability services

Grant Thornton Cyprus launches corporate sustainability services, responding to the growing needs that arise in the business sector and the responsibility that falls on the business world to address climate change and the promotion of circular economy.

The newly established department will be headed by Mr. Kyriakos Parpounas. Mr. Parpounas has many years of experience and specialization in environmental management, waste management, sustainable development strategies, ESG indicators, etc. and he has also served for 12 years as the General Manager of Green Dot Cyprus, Afis Cyprus and WEEE. For the last 4 years he has been working as an environmental management consultant in the international market, through the company Parpounas Sustainability Consultants. (“PSC”). PSC has carried out projects in Cyprus, Greece, Belgium, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, South Africa, etc., while it has also participated in projects in many other countries. PSC and its team of 4 more consultants, will retain  its identity, and is now a member of the Grant Thornton Cyprus network. With this development, Grant Thornton Cyprus has the ability to serve the business world with a specialized team of consultants with a significant international presence.

The new team is strengthened by the presence of Dr. George Kassinis, who assumes the position of Non-Executive Director. Dr. Kassinis is a professor in the Department of Business Administration and Public Administration, School of Economics and Administration of the University of Cyprus and a large part of his academic career is dedicated to sustainable development strategies. The combination of Grant Thornton Cyprus business expertise with the first line of academic research in the field of sustainability, will allow the development of innovative services that will meet the immediate and future needs of the business community, both locally and regionally.
