Major awards for Aes Ambelis winery in local & international wine competitions

Aes Ambelis wines once again received major accolades in 2019, both in local as well as in international wine competitions, demonstrating the high quality of the wines produced by the Cypriot winery.

At the 12th Cyprus Wine Competition, Aes Ambelis winery won a total of 4 Gold medals, 1 Big Gold medal and a special distinction. More specifically:

Aes Ambelis Morokanella 2018 - Gold Medal & Special Distinction – awarded with the highest score amongst the white wines in the competition

Aes Ambelis winery was founded in the early ‘90s with the vision to produce wines of unique character and premium quality in Cyprus. The estate is located on the slopes of Kalo Chorio Orinis in Nicosia district, 28 km southwest of the capital. The winery, which is unique in architectural style, features modern wine-making facilities, underground cellar for barrel and bottle aging, as well as tasting and reception hall. It is surrounded by a vineyard, planted with grape varieties such as Maratheftiko, Shiraz and Chardonnay, which is managed using natural farming techniques.

Aes Ambelis winery is open for public visits and tastings all year round. All guests have the opportunity to taste the wines selection in the purposely built tasting hall that overlooks on the one side the barrel aging cellar and on the other side the beautiful Pitsilia mountains. Furthermore, visitors can arrange to take a winery tour that follows the winemaking process from grape to glass. During the tour, they can explore the vineyards as well as the inner workings of winery including fermentation and barrel aging.
