Marfin Laiki Bank was a sponsor of the 3rd Cyprus Professional Services Conference, which is an annual event organised by IMH in Nicosia. It is a forum where professionals in the accounting, legal, banking, fiduciary and other related sectors, discuss and exchange ideas on how to improve further the servicing of international corporations and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), thus strengthening the status of Cyprus as a reputable international business centre.

The International Business Banking Division and the Wealth Management Division of Marfin Laiki Bank participated in the Conference, promoting to the participants the capabilities (in servicing international clients) of the Bank and the two Divisions in particular, which are amongst the leaders in their fields.

Mr Kyriacos Michaelides, Director of the Wealth Management Division of Marfin Laiki Bank, was one of the speakers at the Conference. He presented the characteristics of HNWIs and demonstrated the big potential there is in servicing such individuals in Cyprus. He explained that although Cyprus has built over the years a reputable name as an international business centre, drawing thousands of corporations from many countries, the development of financial services offered to HNWIs, who are the owners of these corporations, was not as extensive as it could have been. He emphasized that there is a big opportunity for Cyprus in developing further the Wealth Management services offered and explained that Cyprus has many advantages to provide to international HNWIs. He said that the capability exists and offered suggestions for upgrading the services of managing wealth, as well as promoting them to attract a bigger share of the international market, in order to realise the full potential there exists.
