Melco Supported the 42nd Annual Hotel Conference in Cyprus

City of Dreams Mediterranean was aGold Sponsorfor the second consecutive year

Demonstrating its continued commitment to bolster Cyprus’ tourism industry and contribute to the local business community, Melco supportedthe Annual Hotel Conference of the Cyprus Hotel Association (CHA - PASYXE) for the second consecutive year, with City of Dreams Mediterranean Integrated Casino-Resort (ICR) participating as the Gold Sponsor of the event.

The 42ndAnnual Hotel Conference & 28th Exhibition of Products & Services of CHAwas held on Tuesday, 25 February 2020 in Nicosia, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Savvas Perdios, as well as other high-level executives and various local and international stakeholders. The main theme of the Conference was “Streamlining Our Vision for Cyprus Tourism in the Next Decade” and principally focused on the growing challenges facing the sector, as well as the intriguing new prospects resulting from Cyprus’ new National Tourism Strategy for 2020-2030, unveiled at the conference.

During the exhibition, participants also had the opportunity to learn all about the upcoming City of Dreams Mediterranean which will be the largest ICR in Europe when it opens.

Mr. Craig Ballantyne, Property President of City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos “C2”, said: “Melco continues to collaborate with various hotels and other tourism stakeholders on the island, with the goal to provide unique experiences for its guests. We believe that by contributing to the local business community and establishing strong ties with the hotel industry, we can help build the foundations for a sustainable economy in Cyprus”.

Mr Ballantyne also noted, “With the opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean in late 2021, we aim to attract premium clientele from all over the world and are projecting an additional 300,000 tourists per year to Cyprus. Furthermore, the casino and robust business meeting facilities will supplement the island’s existing appeal as an idyllicsun and sea destination and help to establish Cyprus as a year-round destination for business and leisure”.

City of Dreams Mediterranean will be located in Zakaki, Limassol. It will feature a sixteen-story Five-Star hotel with 500 guest rooms and suites as well as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) facilities covering 9,600 sq. meters. The gaming area covers a total 7,500 sq. meters and will include over 100 tables and 1,000 state-of-the-art gaming machines. Its interior design is based on Melco’s international luxury standards, personalised specifically for the Cyprus ICR, while the exterior design features distinct Mediterranean influences.
