Thomas Thoma achieves first prize worldwide in ICAEW exams
PwC Cyprus trainee accountant Thomas Thoma has achieved outstanding results in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) exams, which took place last September. Thomas Thoma earned first prize worldwide in Financial Accounting & Reporting and Financial Management, earning the Spice &Pegler and Howeitt prizes respectively, while he also achieved the highest possible grade (100%) in Financial Accounting & Reporting.
In addition, during the December 2017 ICAEW examinations, Roberta Koumettou and Marina Papanastasiou achieved Joint First worldwide place and the Knox Prize in Tax Compliance. In the June 2018 examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Daria Spirkova and Vitalii Aleksandrov achieved first place in Cyprus, in Financial Reporting and Advanced Financial Management respectively, while Christos Markou achieved Second Place in Cyprus amongst the top three ACCA Affiliates.
Recognising their praise worthy effort, PwC Cyprus honoured the trainee accountants at a special event that took place on 11 December 2018, in the presence of the organisation’s CEO, Evgenios C Evgeniou, and the Head of People, Philippos Soseilos. In his statement, Mr Evgeniou congratulated the award winners and expressed his satisfaction at the overall results that PwC trainee accountants have achieved over the years in professional examinations, which exceed international averages.
