The CIIM Centre of Entrepreneurship organises the forum “Panorama of Entrepreneurship”, on Thursday 7 June 2012 from 4pm – 6pm, at the CIIM campus in Nicosia. This forum aims to showcase all the support mechanisms geared to promote new ventures not only by youngsters but also by female entrepreneurs.
The participants of the forum include representatives from stakeholders such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, representatives of the Cyprus Network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors, representatives of First Elements (on behalf of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs) and representatives of the Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition which is organised by the University of Cyprus and supported by the Cyprus Development Banks, CIIM, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
“It is imperative that we offer inspiration and support to our aspiring entrepreneurs. New business creation is one of the engines that will kick-start growth and development of the Cyprus Economy” said Dr
Panikkos Poutziouris, Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship and Family Business at CIIM Business School, who leads this initiative. He added that “…general small business entrepreneurship will generate jobs and spark innovations across our social and commercial frontiers”.
In addition, during this forum the Cyprus Network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors will unveil their latest initiative, for the promotion of female entrepreneurship and innovation by announcing a Business Concept Competition.
Yioula Papakyriakou, one of the female Ambassadors, member of the Cyprus Network of Female Entrepreneurship stated that “it’s time to challenge the enthusiasm and interest of young women and business people to seek new alternative routes for the creation of successful careers, following the entrepreneurial path”.
