The easyBoat campaign has just launched on Crowdbase’s platform, and anyone can invest in this promising startup from €100, at the same price as Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Founder of easyGroup.
What is easyBoat?
easyBoat is a startup founded by Greek entrepreneurs Alexandros Nastos and Simos Lalagkos. It is the first online price comparison platform for yacht charters of various types. Just like Skyscanner for flights or Booking.com for hotels, easyBoat saves both time and money on yacht charter bookings. Being a member of the easy family of brands, easyBoat provides simplicity and affordability to first-time charterers as well as experienced sailors.
easyBoat campaign
easyBoat has just launched a crowdfunding campaign through Crowdbase’s platform, the first investment-based crowdfunding platform based in Cyprus. easyBoat is aiming to raise anywhere from €250,000 to €650,000, in exchange for ordinary shares in the company. These funds are to be deployed in three key areas of development, namely marketing and brand awareness, hiring of key personnel, and product development.
Sir Stelios involvement
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the Founder of easyJet and easyGroup, is the Lead Investor in this financing round for easyBoat. He has already invested €500,000 in easyBoat (€150,000 in cash, €350,000 in kind) at a price of €1 per share. He is now giving the opportunity to everyone else to invest in easyBoat through crowdfunding, at the same price as him (€1 per share!).
How to invest
Anyone over the age of 18 can register on Crowdbase’s platform and complete the onboarding process in under 10 minutes. Once verified, they will have access to all the information they need before taking an investment decision, including the Key Investor Information Document (KIID), the Pitch, Financial Projections and more. If they wish to invest, they can do so from as little as €100 (and a maximum of €100,000) through credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Tax deductible investments
easyBoat is a Certified Innovative Enterprise (CIE) by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy. The entire amount of an investment in easyBoat through Crowdbase can therefore be deducted from an investor’s total taxable income. More information about this plan, including eligibility and how to claim your tax relief can be found here.
Risks
As with all other investments, investing through crowdfunding involves a high degree of risk. Investors should ensure they fully understand the risks associated with investing in financial instruments before deciding to invest as they may lose part, or all invested capital.
