Within the framework of its strategy to promote business and financial cooperation between the Cypriot and Lebanese business environment, USB Bank sponsored and participated in the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s ‘Cyprus-Lebanon Business Forum’ held in Beirut recently, in association with the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce of Beirut and Mount Lebanon .

Great interest and attention was exhibited by distinguished Lebanese businesspeople and professionals who attended the forum, interested to discover and understand the business environment in Cyprus. Lebanese businesspeople are keen to diversify their business activities and cooperations, and benefit from a European foothold.

The business delegation from Cyprus comprised of professionals such as Bankers, Accountants and Lawyers who addressed the forum and presented the legal, tax and banking sectors of Cyprus, as well as the possibilities for cooperation that are arising in the traditional, yet transitional economic environments such as: real estate, telecommunications, tourism and energy related activities.
USB Bank was represented by Messrs. Rafael Ajram, Manager of Retail Banking, who presented Cyprus Banking Sector and Nicolas Yiannakas, International Business Division Manager.

Mr Maurice Sehnaoui, Chairman General Manager of BLC Bank and Chairman of USB Bank, as well as other senior officials of BLC Bank-Fransabank Group attended. The Group, of which USB Bank has been a member since 2011, was in this way introduced to the members of the delegation from Cyprus, in an effort to enhance banking support on both sides of any Cyprus-Lebanese cooperations.

Extensive discussions followed the forum and allowed for further development and examination of fields of interest.
