Goods transportation declines by 20% in Q2 2020

The total weight of goods transported by road in Cyprus fell by 20.1% in the period of April to June 2020 compared to the corresponding period of 2019, data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat) on Tuesday show.

Goods transportation was affected by the COVID-19 containment measures that were in force in Cyprus, CyStat said.

Furthermore, the weight of freight transported from and to Cyprus also decreased by an annual 18.0% compared with the same period of last year.
