According to Cystat provisional estimates, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade fell in March, returning to negative course.

This drop shows the financial insecurity of the consumers who reduce spending in a bid to deal with the financial crisis and its impacts.

According to new Cystat data released on Friday, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade is estimated to have dropped 1.5%.

Last February, it had recorded an increase of 0.5% but proved to be temporary.

For the period January-March 2012 the Index recorded a decrease of 0,7% compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
