Retail trade falls

The retail sector recorded a new decline in October, according to new data released today by Cystat.

According to the Statistical Service, on the basis of provisional estimates, the turnover value index of retail trade for October 2015 decreased by 1,2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

In September, the turnover value index of retail trade fell by 0.5%.

The largest decrease was recorded in the sector of other retail sale in non-specialized stores which recorded a 15,6% fall while the retail sale of automotive fuel in specialized stores recorded a 15.4% decline.

In contrast, the sector of electrical goods and furniture recorded the largest increase that reached 12.6%.

For the period January-October 2015 the index is estimated to have recorded a decrease of 1,1% compared to the same period of 2014.
