Retail trade increases 1.3%

The volume of retail trade in Cyprus recorded a smaller increase than the EU average in October 2014.

According to Eurostat data released today, the volume of retail trade in Cyprus rose by 1.3% in October compared with the corresponding month of 2013. In September, the increase was 1.1%.

The volume of retail trade increased by 2.1% in EU28 and by 1.6% in the eurozone.

The highest increase was observed in Luxembourg (+12.6%).

Eurostat released figures for November 2014 as well. In November 2014 compared with November 2013 the retail sales index increased by 1.5% in the euro area and by 2.6% in the EU28.
