Retail trade slightly up

The retail trade activity recorded a slight increase in January 2011, according to Cystat data released on Tuesday.

According to the preliminary figures, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade excluding fuel and cars is estimated to have recorded an increase of 2.3% in January 2011 compared to the corresponding month of 2009.

In December 2010, the increase in the turnover stood at 3.8%.

For the period January-December 2010 the Index recorded an increase of 0.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
