Cyprus’s retail trade turnover grew significantly year on year in February, the Statistical Service said on Thursday.
Cystat provisional estimates showed that the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade increased by 3.4% in February 2019 compared with the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 97,0 units (base 2015=100).
Between January-February 2019 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 4.2% compared with the same period of 2018.
The Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade rose an annual 2.7% in the second month of the year, according to provisional estimates, and reached 99,9 units (base 2015=100).
During the first two months of 2019 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 3.3% compared with the same period of 2018.
